What you will do

As a Senior Manager – Consulting (Logistics Procurement) at GEP, you will lead strategic engagements to optimize logistics and transportation procurement for our clients. This role demands a deep understanding of logistics categories (e.g., freight, warehousing, last-mile delivery), strategic sourcing, market intelligence, and supplier relationship management. You will manage high-impact projects, mentor junior consultants, and foster strong client relationships while driving innovation in logistics procurement strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:

    • Lead consulting engagements focused on logistics procurement optimization.
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for logistics categories, including road, rail, sea, air freight, warehousing, and distribution.
    • Analyze market trends to provide clients with actionable insights and innovative solutions.
  2. Client Engagement:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with clients to identify challenges and tailor solutions to their business needs.
    • Ensure timely delivery of projects with a high level of quality and client satisfaction.
  3. Team Management:

    • Guide and mentor junior consultants to ensure skill development and project success.
    • Drive knowledge sharing and foster collaboration within the team.
  4. Category Expertise:

    • Leverage your expertise in logistics categories to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
    • Conduct supplier negotiations to deliver value-added benefits for clients.
  5. Operational Excellence:

    • Use advanced procurement tools, including SMART by GEP® and client ERP systems, to drive efficiency and transparency in logistics procurement processes.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop continuous improvement strategies.
  6. Thought Leadership:

    • Contribute to GEP’s thought leadership by publishing white papers, leading webinars, and presenting at industry conferences.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends in logistics and supply chain management.

What you should bring

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement consulting, with a strong focus on logistics categories.
  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and logistics procurement strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in procurement tools like GEP SMART, SAP, Coupa, or other ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with global and regional suppliers across multiple geographies.
